Frequently Asked Benefit Questions

What holidays do you give off?
AQUA employees receive the following paid holidays (total number of days varies each year depending on Christmas and New Years).
  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Pioneer Day (July 24th)
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • December 25th - January 1st

If a Company holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is up to the employee to use their holiday on either the Friday or Monday. If a Company holiday falls during an employee’s approved vacation period, the vacation may be extended by the duration of the holiday.

How much vacation time do you offer employees?
Employees earn PTO hours each pay period based on their length of employment up to the amounts shown below. Employees may, with their Supervisor’s written approval, use more PTO than they have accrued, but in no case may their negative balance exceed 40 hours in the first 90 days of employment. Any time-off taken by an employee which exceeds those allowable in this policy will be treated as time-off without pay and may be considered excessive absenteeism.

Is there a waiting period for benefits?
All employees classified as full-time are eligible to enroll in benefits (working at least 30 hours per week). Employees become effective on the 1st of the month following 2 months from their hire date. (Example: Hired Sept. 15th – eligible for benefits Dec. 1st)
Is sick time separate from PTO?
Regular, full-time employees, who average 30 hours or more per week, earn paid time-off (PTO) to use for vacation, illness and personal business days. This program combines traditional vacation sick leave into one flexible, paid time-off program.
What type of retirement benefits do you offer?
AQUA Engineering provides the opportunity for you to participate in a company sponsored retirement program.

Contributions are made through payroll deductions. Offering current matching dollar for dollar on the first 3%, then 50 cents on the dollar on the next 2% of your total cash compensation. You are 100% vested in all company matching. You must work for the Company a minimum of 90 days to be eligible for the retirement program and you must meet all additional plan requirements.
