Bennett Water Reclamation and Resource Recovery Facility Expansion

Through a competitive selection process, the Town of Bennett retained AQUA to provide planning, preliminary engineering, and design services for the Water Reclamation Resource Recovery Facility (WRRRF) Expansion.

AQUA's approach focused on developing a reliable, efficient, and easy-to-operate facility capable of meeting both current and anticipated wastewater discharge and water reuse requirements. The project incorporated advanced treatment planning and a forward-thinking design strategy that positions the Town to address future regulatory changes and community growth while maintaining sustainable utility operations.

A key component of the project is the production of Regulation 84 Category 3+ reclaimed water, allowing the Town to significantly expand water reuse opportunities and reduce reliance on potable water supplies. By producing high-quality reclaimed water, the facility will support a broad range of beneficial uses while helping preserve valuable drinking water resources.

The WRRRF has been planned to provide both immediate and long-term benefits. In addition to meeting current reclaimed water standards, the facility establishes the foundation for future direct or indirect potable reuse opportunities should regulatory frameworks evolve and additional treatment processes be implemented. This strategic approach provides the Town with enhanced flexibility, resiliency, and long-term water supply security.

Delivered through a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) approach, AQUA serves as the Design Engineer, working closely with the Town and construction team to develop a cost-effective, constructable solution that balances performance, operational efficiency, and lifecycle costs.
