Deer Valley East Village On Mountain Amenities Water Plan
Deer Valley East Village’s on-mountain amenities at South Peak, Park Peak, Big Dutch Peak, and Sultan’s Nose, including skier lodges, food and beverage facilities, hotels, and comfort stations, sit well above and away from the resort base, where extending the base water system is only one of several ways to provide potable service. AQUA assessed the options for each area before any design commitment, weighing expansion of the Deer Valley East Village system against alternatives such as leveraging the proposed snowmaking supply and package treatment in each area or interconnecting with a neighboring utility.
Using a WaterGEMS hydraulic model, AQUA developed roughly three alternatives per area, about twelve in total, and sized the treatment, storage, and distribution implied by each. Master-planning-level cost estimates and a Culinary Water Service Feasibility Report identified the preferred alternative for each amenity, giving the developer a defensible basis for phasing potable service to the upper mountain in later design.
