Deer Valley East Village Phase II Water Modeling
As the Deer Valley East Village development expanded northwest into its Phase II areas (Lincoln, Pioche, Big Dutch Pete, and Hailstone), AQUA developed the drinking water hydraulic model and potable water master plan that set the design basis for the next stage of the system, extending the project’s hydraulic modeling into new, higher service areas rather than treating each as a standalone system.
Using a WaterGEMS model, AQUA evaluated indoor, outdoor, fire-flow, peak-day, and peak-instantaneous demand scenarios against state and JSSD pressure and flow requirements, and documented the basis of design in a Hydraulic Model Design Elements Report meeting Utah Division of Drinking Water rule R309-511. Demand criteria and Equivalent Residential Connection counts were established with JSSD, including evaluation of surplus capacity in the district’s Deer Crest system and a possible interconnection with the Phase I system.
The resulting master plan sized distribution, storage, and pumping for Phase II and sequenced the infrastructure to match phased development of the Lincoln and Pioche areas, with a prioritized improvements list and cost basis to guide subsequent design.
