Bedrock Well | Groundwater Exploration, Aquifer Testing, and Water Supply Development

AQUA collaborated with a private development entity and two municipal partners to evaluate groundwater resources in Goshute Valley, Nevada. The project focused on determining the hydrologic and geologic characteristics of the regional aquifer system and identifying sustainable groundwater supplies capable of supporting future municipal and development water demands.
To characterize groundwater conditions, AQUA led the design, permitting, and implementation of an extensive exploration and aquifer testing program. The work included drilling and completion of multiple test wells, installation of monitoring infrastructure, and the design and construction of a new 14-inch diameter culinary-quality bedrock production well drilled to a depth of approximately 1,500 feet. AQUA provided engineering oversight throughout drilling and well construction activities, ensuring proper well development, testing procedures, and regulatory compliance. The project also included test pumping of both an existing 16-inch alluvial production well and the newly constructed bedrock well to evaluate production capacities, aquifer responses, hydraulic connectivity, and long-term groundwater yield characteristics. In addition to engineering design services, AQUA secured the necessary permits for well construction and coordinated the preparation of temporary discharge permits and environmental approvals required for large-scale aquifer testing activities. Close coordination with regulatory agencies ensured compliance with state and local requirements while maintaining project schedules. Following completion of field investigations, AQUA assisted with data collection, analysis, and interpretation of aquifer testing results. The firm prepared a comprehensive technical report documenting drilling activities, geological findings, aquifer characteristics, pumping test results, and groundwater system responses. The resulting dataset and analysis provide the foundation for development of a regional groundwater model that will support future water resource planning, supply evaluations, and sustainable aquifer management decisions. This project demonstrates AQUA's expertise in groundwater development, hydrogeologic investigations, water supply planning, regulatory permitting, and the evaluation of complex aquifer systems in arid environments where long-term water resource sustainability is critical. |
