Indian Hills Water District
Master Plan
|
The Indian Hills Water District Master Plan addresses the need for a comprehensive, forward-thinking strategy to support the community’s future growth and infrastructure demands. Recognizing the district’s anticipated expansion, this plan incorporates a detailed assessment of all key water utility components—including treatment facilities, booster stations, water lines, and storage—ensuring each asset is evaluated based on capacity, condition, and criticality. Special attention is given to the Groundwater Under the Direct Influence (GWUDI) system and water quality management, with a focus on nitrate treatment to safeguard public health. To further enhance service reliability, SCADA systems are modernized to expand operational control and monitoring capabilities, and advanced leak detection technology is introduced to mitigate water loss. Additionally, fire hydrant placement is strategically optimized to enhance fire safety across the community. Beyond delivering a static report, the Master Plan is structured within an interactive platform, allowing IHWD staff to make annual updates and plan adjustments. This GIS-based tool aligns with IHWD's vision, facilitating both immediate improvements and strategic, data-driven planning for future infrastructure projects.
