AQUA partnered with Hyrum City to plan and design Salt Hollow Park, a community recreation facility developed to enhance quality of life and provide outdoor recreational opportunities for residents of all ages. Located on more than six acres, the park was envisioned as a destination amenity that would combine active recreation, family gathering spaces, and unique water features while maximizing available funding resources.

Working closely with City leaders and stakeholders, AQUA developed a comprehensive park master plan and phased implementation strategy. The initial phase focused on approximately three acres of development and included a variety of recreational features designed to create a vibrant community gathering place. AQUA prepared the layout and design for an interconnected looped trail system, a sledding hill, splash pad, stream and pond features, playground facilities, pavilions, and public restrooms.

A key objective of the project was to maximize community benefits while working within limited financial resources. AQUA assisted the City in evaluating multiple funding alternatives, including grant opportunities and other public funding sources. After reviewing several options, the City elected to pursue a community-supported construction approach that incorporated significant volunteer labor contributions. This strategy allowed Hyrum City to stretch available resources, reduce project costs, and achieve many of the desired park amenities that may not have otherwise been feasible within the project's budget constraints.

Throughout the planning and design process, AQUA worked to balance recreation, aesthetics, accessibility, and long-term maintenance considerations. The resulting design created a multi-use community destination that encourages outdoor activity, family engagement, and year-round enjoyment while complementing the surrounding environment.

Today, Salt Hollow Park serves as a valuable recreational asset for Hyrum residents and demonstrates how thoughtful planning, creative funding strategies, and strong community involvement can transform a vision into a successful public amenity.
